About this opportunity:
An Instrument Technician is responsible for working as part of the offshore maintenance team to ensure that all equipment is working correctly, efficiently and available to safely meet production targets and other performance standards. The successful candidate will be required to work offshore on 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off rotation. This position requires the successful candidate travel offshore, therefore you will be required to obtain and maintain medical clearance and obtain all required training necessary for offshore travel. This position is based in St. John’s, Newfoundland

Responsibilities:
Maintain integrity and perform safe and efficient maintenance of all instrumentation, equipment, and control systems in accordance with Cenovus polices & procedures, regulatory requirements, and offshore industry standards, to achieve established objectives in the most productive, cost effective and safest manner possible.
Ensure that all ESD equipment and fire & gas detection is tested and maintained to ensure automatic required safety actions as per the cause and effects logic in the Integrated Controls Safety System.
Ensure all Fire & Gas detection including personal gas monitors and ESD equipment is properly calibrated and maintained to always ensure safe operation of the plant.
Participate in emergency response (ER) activities and training as required and/or requested. Act as member of fire team and heli-deck teams where required.
Prepare and submit requirements for spares and proposals for modifications, and in identifying appropriate stock levels and ensuring they are maintained at an optimum operational level.
Carrying out fault finding and diagnosis of problems affecting plant and systems taking corrective actions to anticipate and prevent downtime and thus maximize oil and Gas production.
Ensure effective record keeping and history is kept and recorded in SAP to assist in effectively solving repeated problems with lessons learned and allow trending of failures to adjust the type and frequency of preventative maintenance required in the future.
Ensure corrective work orders are raised for any deficiencies observed which cannot be immediately rectified.
Identify any possible improvements to systems or equipment and submit Ol's to engineering to determine if these improvements are feasible and would improve on the existing system design.
Assisting the Instrumentation Coordinator and Maintenance Supervisor to identify priorities for shutdown activities in order to minimize downtime.
May be required to assist CCRO during maintenance activities.
Ensure any required documentation including redline drawings and as-builds are completed and sent to document control following any changes made or found during field work.
Assist to review work packs as required to ensure MOC processes have been followed before implementation of the work begins offshore.
Keep accurate and organized records of all Fiscal and Allocation metering calibration and equipment documentation and maintain a written logbook for each system.
Ensure all tagging and identification is correct in the field and ensure all documentation matches what is installed in the field.
Qualifications:
Journeyman Instrumentation technician/technologist certification
Minimum 5 years experience working as an offshore Instrumentation Technician.
