Student Residences and Ancillary Operations (University Bookstore)

(Contractual Position to March 31, 2024)

DUTIES

Under the supervision of the Manager, University Bookstore, the successful applicant will perform moderately difficult and varied clerical work which involves some independent judgment. Duties include overseeing the WEB ORDER FULFILLMENT processes, training students, troubleshooting, processing transactions and refunds, providing excellent customer service for all e-commerce activities in person, through email and over the phone; maintaining shipping standards and an organized system for campus delivery and in-store pick up of orders; arranging all outgoing shipments including preparing all documentation; participating in the receipt of all inventory, including accepting and signing for deliveries, lifting boxes up to 50 lbs., inspecting goods, counting goods and comparing to purchase orders, and ensuring proper storage of the goods; assisting in the movement of merchandise to the sales floor, ensuring shelves are stocked, and properly merchandised; assisting with special orders and special events where necessary; and performing other related duties as required. This position requires lifting, reaching, climbing, bending, sitting, standing and walking. Some evening and weekend hours are also required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (1-3 years) in moderately difficult and varied clerical work in a warehouse or ORDER FULFILLMENT environment; completion of a diploma in business administration or equivalency; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and service providers are required. Experience with an inventory management system in a retail environment or a shipping system is an asset.

SALARY $42,274 - $49,591 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
