The successful candidate must be very proficient in reading and understanding architectural drawings and experienced in all aspects of the tender process for commercial construction. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must as the candidate will be expected to communicate with client project managers, salesman to collect pricing and build budgets, and other estimators / team-members to properly assemble in-depth pricing proposals. The candidate should also be computer literate and be fluent in basic Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
Job Type / Category
The successful candidate will be trained for all product / trade specific aspects of our various industries. Some of these industries include below grade waterproofing, spray fireproofing, spray insulation, spray foam, batt insulation, and firestopping.
Expected hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Work location is at our office in Burnaby.
The position is full-time and includes benefits such as extended dental, medical, and RRSP plan. Wage is negotiable based on experience. There is no contract for this position, but we are generally looking for people to grow with our team and become an intricate part of our company going forward.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Education - Any relevant post secondary is an asset. No specific requirements depending on experience.
Skills - Computer literate, strong communication, self-started, fast learner, etc.
Qualifications - While all applicants will be considered, we would expect that a successful candidate would have 5+ years of experience as an estimator in a field with overlapping traits.
