J2EE Developer On behalf of our client in the Utility Sector, PROCOM is looking for a J2EE Developer J2EE Developer - Job Description- Developing, Testing and Documentation
- Build web applications with web development best practices
- Transform app designs into front-end code with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Develop and maintain J2EE WebSphere applications
- Enhance and support the day-to-day operations of IT systems such as legacy and off the shelf products
- Research and identify industry trends (relative to scope of responsibility), leveraging ideas to improve or better align IT systems and services
- Proactively identify problems and opportunities for improvement of IT service and infrastructure systems or processes, including architecture advancement, service level improvement, cost efficiency and customer demand management
- Work in partnership with all levels of staff in determining technical options / solutions to meet business needs.
- Provide Application Services and solutions to support IT&S project delivery (Project Management)
- Troubleshoot and maintain IT assets to improve reliability, including capacity, response to incidents and issues resolution
- Ensure application and software currency by scheduling patching and updating.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships for their support in defect fixing, troubleshooting, and enhancements
- Monitor the usage of software licenses and ensure sufficient licenses are available for the business user communities
- Identify opportunities to optimize the efficiency of IT Application Services (Service Management)
- Implement target state solution architectures, perform development assessment and gap analysis
- Understand application, data, integration and infrastructure architectures to enable solutions
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds with different job responsibilities, from business users, IT technical, project and security teams, to vendors
- Write technical documents to capture application components, operating processes and technical details
- Develop Technical solutions considering reliability, availability, capacity, performance and security requirements
- Work with IT security teams and vendors to ensure security standards & compliance of the products and solutions that are being implemented
- Design and development - Perform and coordinate complicated application programming and scripting activities. Design application technical infrastructure using standard databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches
- Planning and Coordination - Participate in the technical design, development, and integration of cross functional, multi-platform application systems
- Effectively interact with team members, end users, business analysts, and technical resources to gather requirements and prepare design specifications
- Responsible for understanding and preparing the proposal of the Distribution Grid Operations requirements of Utility Network Management System (NMS) with DMS and DMS Modernization like Power flow, Feeder Load Management, FLISR, SCADA
- Responsible for eliciting, documenting, and managing business and technical requirements to enhance or improve in running current processes on Utility NMS.
- Responsible for preparing training, demo materials and effective documentation of records to meet the THESL IT Compliance standard
- 7+ years of experience in programming languages
- Experience in most of the following technologies: Java, J2EE, ETL, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, Javascript/JQuery, web page development, HTML5, Spring MVC, EJB 3, SQL, Web Services, JMS, Spring Integration, Quartz scheduler, Ant, Maven
- Experience in diagnosing complex problems and providing detailed analysis and recommendations
- 5+ years’ experience and demonstrated ability to work with large volumes of data, SQL scripting, or other data mining skills
- 3+ years' experience with Windows and Linux platform
- 2+ years working with relational databases (Oracle, etc.)
- While not expected to be a database administrator, the candidate should feel comfortable planning out schemas and designs that the code will interface with
- experience with Scripting (Power, Shell, etc.)
- Working Experience using WebSphere, ACE
- Hands-on experience and troubleshooting RESTful API and interface specifications (Swagger, RAML, SOAP)
- Troubleshooting experience working with security gateways and protocols (JWT, Oauth2.0, SSL Certificates, TLS)
- Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with using Remedy Ticketing System (nice to have)
- Interested in and passionate with new cutting-edge IT technology
- Self-motivated and quick learner
- Knowledge of standard computer skills - MS Office Suite, MS Visio, PDF
