The Role

We are currently recruiting an experienced Journeyperson Welder for our Nisku Fabrication Shop to start ASAP. Must have lots of experience with RMD welding and have a current F3/F4 and F6 RMD ticket.Will have to pass two weld tests. First test will form part of the interview. If the test is passed, a second paid test will be conducted for the client.The successful candidates will be responsible for cutting and welding work in connection with the construction, repair and maintenance of company pipelines and related facilities.

Compensation/Benefits

  • $46.00 per hour, time and a half after 40 per week
  • $3.00/hour Alloy Welder Premium when welding specialized alloys.

Job Details

  • 10 hours/day. Monday to Thursday. 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.
  • Work will be primarily inside Fabrication facility, however some field work may also be required

Responsibilities

  • Develops patterns for projects or follows directions in given layouts, blueprints and work orders
  • Cleans, checks for defects and shapes component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch
  • Welds parts and may also build up worn parts by welding layers of high-strength hard-metal alloys onto them.
  • Experience with hydro testing is required
  • Mentors and coaches Apprentice Welders
  • Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
  • Performs pipe welding and must be capable of rolling pipe and/or position welding
  • May perform other related duties assigned

Requirements

  • Must have a current F3/F4 and F6 RMD ticket
  • Must be experienced with small and large bore
  • CWB ticket considered an asset
  • Must have previous welding experience in an industrial setting
  • Must have previous welding experience in a fabrication shop
  • Must have RMD Flux Core experience
  • Candidates with COR safety experience an asset
  • Candidates with overhead crane experience an asset
  • Strong work ethic & positive team attitude
  • Attention to detail & high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to engage & problem solve
  • Flexible - able to work in field or shop
  • Motivated, self-starter
  • Eagerness to learn, develop current skill set & grow with the company
