Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials according to specifications
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers
- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a carpenter
- Proficient in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, and planes
- Knowledge of power tools such as drills, sanders, and routers
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of construction methods and safety regulations
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Good physical stamina and strength to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time
Skills:
- Plumb: Ability to ensure that structures are level and properly aligned
- Construction painting: Knowledge of painting techniques for finishing surfaces
- Restore: Ability to repair or restore damaged structures or fixtures
- Installation: Proficiency in installing various components such as windows, doors, cabinets, etc.
- Construction estimating: Skill in estimating the time, cost, and materials required for a project
- Caulking: Knowledge of sealing joints or gaps in structures to prevent air or water leakage
- Electrical: Basic understanding of electrical systems for installation or troubleshooting purposes
- Assemble: Ability to put together components or parts to form a complete structure or fixture

- Weekends as needed
