We are currently seeking an Junior Design Engineering Technologist to join our Engineering Team. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic team of engineers and support staff to develop new products and update existing products. Provide technical support to design project managers, engineers, and other professionals in the engineering group. Primary focus will be on both new and current product design and the process of taking prototypes to finished, manufacturable products. High attention to detail and strong mechanical design skills are necessary for the role.
What will you be working on?
Prepare computer-assisted design (CAD) engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
Assist in the design in of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for use in manufacturing process.
Provide technical support to other employees regarding mechanical design, fabrication, or documentation.
Ensure designs are safe, efficient, effective, and able to be cost effectively manufactured.
Support the engineering department as required.
What is required for this role?
Engineering degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Proficiency with SolidWorks is required.
Meticulous attention to detail with strong mechanical background.
Experience with steel fabrication, manufacturing processes and machine design.
Strong problem identification and problem solution skills.
Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems preferred.
Familiarity with ERP systems and lean manufacturing processes is considered and asset.
Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
Must have a strong work ethic and be prepared to work within a strong team environment.
