Job description

Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the IT Technician is responsible for first level technical support across the division. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly analyze and determine best course of action using available resources, have a strong customer service mindset and have experience in managing and prioritizing multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Troubleshooting and problem resolution, tracking, and liaising with second level support staff and vendors.

- Staging and rollout of new end-user systems/software.

- Maintenance of the centralized inventory system for hardware.

- Perform 1st level network troubleshooting.

- Prioritize work orders/help desk tickets according to severity.

- Perform in-person, on-site repairs of PC desktop hardware, printers, and other peripherals.

- Perform on-site and remote technical support.

- Accurately log work orders/help desk tickets and resolutions into help desk software management system; maintain vigilant maintenance of this process.

- Provide technical training to staff as required.

- Maintain excellent communication with the Manager of Information Technology on all tasks and projects.

- Compile, maintain, and file all repair records, reports and other documents as required.

- Create and maintain good technical documentation.

- Always maintain a high degree of professionalism, courteousness, and friendliness.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Information Technology.

Qualifications:

- Experience with and/or interest in an IT career.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Experience working within a technical support role.

- Experience supporting Mac computers will be an asset.

- Strong customer service focus.

- Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocols.

- A valid class 5 drivers license and access to a vehicle is required.

Physical Requirements:

- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment.

- Ability to climb ladders, work in awkward places and dusty environments.

Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check will be required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $34,000.00-$38,000.00 per year
