Let’s help you launch your career with AVL/Solvet! We are looking for an energetic and dedicated Labelling Associate to join our Operations team on-site in our Calgary facility.

*THE ROLE*

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Labelling Associate is responsible for the daily execution of label printing activities and following Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents to accurately capture processes and procedures within a fast-paced environment.

This position requires an incumbent with a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated computer literacy. You must be keen to learn AVL/Solvet and BVR Veterinary Supplies Ltd. processes and procedures, and enthusiastically engage in working as part of a dedicated and hard-working team. An understanding of working in a GMP facility would be an asset.

*DAY-TO-DAY*

- Coordinate and print labels and other documentation ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and product specifications
- Perform large printing/scanning jobs
- Create/participate in making in-house signage
- Print/prepare media or documents for other departments
- Print and bind material, including but not limited to logbooks
- Maintain physical and electronic records and assist in drafting work instructions when required
- Communicate with internal stakeholders including Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance on quality concerns
- Update schedules and process tracking software
- Reordering materials and consumables required for printing in advance of demand to support production schedules ensuring labels, paper, and related expendables are kept at sufficient inventory levels
- Other duties as required

Equipment and Maintenance

- Afina L901 printer
- Use Label Finisher to split, de-matrix, and apply UV finish to labels printed from the Afinia
- Provide basic maintenance to maintain printer and clean components of the label finisher
- Daily maintenance and upkeep the printing area
- Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance and servicing required for all label printing equipment

Additional Responsibilities

- Assisting in other departments including Warehouse and Administration as required
- Administration duties may include:
- - assisting with printing Batch Records (Operations)
- - physical inventory counting (Warehouse)

*IDEAL FIT*

Education & Experience

- Minimum High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education and experience with a focus on business or office administration
- Previous experience with label printing, labelling software, and associated machines
- Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry or other Health Canada/GMP regulated industries will be considered an asset
- Fully computer conversant and adapt at learning new programs

Skills and Attributes

- Excellent organization, time management, and verbal/written communication skills (professional level of English required)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Hands-on, resourceful, and proactive in preventing and solving problems
- Works effectively to plan, schedule, and prioritize all facets of daily activities to effectively manage tight timelines and meet deadlines
- While a member of the broader Operations team, must be comfortable working independently with minimal oversight demonstrating initiative and willingness to go above and beyond
- Comfortable with multi-tasking and adaptable to changing priorities within an entrepreneurial environment
- Able to remain calm under pressure and make informed decisions quickly and collaboratively with other stakeholder departments
- Follows directions while working safely and efficiently
- Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kgs)
