This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Our portfolio combines our stored energy expertise with power systems, enclosures, and renewable energy products to deliver world-class solutions for diverse applications such as 5G, broadband, Internet of Things (IoT), data center, and solar power. Our cutting-edge technology includes Lithium batteries, Fault Managed Power Systems, and Extended Run Time battery backup systems that improve the reliability and resiliency of broadband networks.

Job Purpose
As a result of our continuing growth, we require a Lead Electronic Engineer as part of the Research and Advanced Development Team to help rapid development of cutting-edge power conversion concepts, prototypes, and products. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Work with the Research and Advanced Development team to rapidly develop product concepts prior to commercialization.
-Design and develop hardware circuits for various products, involving analog and digital circuitry.
-Rapid prototyping of power supply and accessory prototypes 
-Handle a variety of technical assignments involving some complexity and recommend solutions to technical problems.
-Innovate, design, and prototype electronics and embedded systems including power, communications, digital circuits, and control components.
-Prototype new designs and validate them through testing.
-Create design calculations, test plans and perform detailed testing and results analysis.
-Create documentation packages and assist product development teams through commercialization.
-Contribute to a culture of collaboration by working with team members.
 
Qualifications
-A minimum of master’s degree in engineering and one year of experience in industry. Or bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in commercializing products, 
-Experience designing analog / digital hardware, including: drawing schematics, performing PCB layout, writing test plans, performing fault-finding, creating test jigs, etc.
-Experience with a variety of test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, environmental chambers, etc.
-Experience soldering fine-pitch SMT components.
-Relevant experience with analog circuits, micro-processor based circuitry, switch-mode power supplies, etc.
-Basic knowledge in embedded firmware and C programming.
-Experience in power electronics is preferred.
-Experience with EMC (FCC/CE) and/or safety testing (CSA/UL) is considered an asset.
-Familiarity with Altium, SPICE would be desirable. Solidworks experience a plus.
-Willing and able to get “hands dirty” building prototypes, performing wire and cable assembly and routing, basic mechanical assembly, etc.
-A flexible team player with a strong sense of ownership, coupled with technical experience and 'out-of-the-box' creativity.
-Excellent analysis, problem solving, design and troubleshooting skills. 
-Thrives in a highly collaborative cross-functional environment.
-Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
