AddressWilley West campground is nestled in the valleys of Brazeau County Alberta. It is seasonally operated from April- October each year offering several amenities that appeal to a wide range of camping cognisors and guests looking for a “Staycation Experience”. Position: LeadCampground Maintenance
Position Type: Seasonal/ Contract – up to 44 hours a week
The Campground Maintenance Lead is a temporary seasonal employee(s) that helps maintain Willey West Campground and the Drayton Valley RV Campground properties and lawn maintenance. This position includes but is not limited to the following: Mentoring the Maintenance Crew, cutting grass, weed whipping, picking up leaves, cleaning campsites, maintaining the roads and trail systems, cleaning washrooms and outhouses, and maintaining equipment. This position can also help in the office/store/ice cream parlor, provide exceptional customer services, support Camper check-in services on weekends and assists with events within the campground(s).
This is a position that is ideally suited for those looking for a summer seasonal position in a challenging, fast paced environment in a hospitality industry where no two days are the same.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Mentor maintenance crew
- lawn and garden maintenance
- operating lawn tractors and zero-turn machines
- operating landscaping equipment: such as weed whippers and leaf blowers.
- Maintain roads and trail systems
- landscaping
- cleaning campsites
- cleaning out fire pits
- cleaning washrooms/ showers and outhouses
- garbage pickup (garbage bins, recycling work etc)
- general customer service throughout the campground
- Maintenance and cleanliness duties around the campground
- Carpentry or plumbing skills are bonus
- Campground season runs from March-October
The Lead Maintenance Crew Member reports to the General Manager and Director of Operations/ Owner.
Required:
- Valid Drivers License
- Have their own transportation to work
- Ability to drive a golf cart/ Gator Utility Vehicle
- Able to lift to 50 lbs
- Keen eye for small detail is a must
- Strong work ethic (very labour intensive and a lot of walking)
- Able to work alone
Knowledge and Experience
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods
- knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials
- working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
- physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
- ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30lbs)
