AddressA medium size downtown law firm is seeking a legal assistant to join our firm on a full-time basis. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. We are looking for a legal assistant that would be able to work in the areas of Corporate Law, Commercial Law, and Secured Lending and Security. Graduation from an accredited legal assistant program along with a minimum of 5 years of legal assistant experience in Corporate and Commercial Law would be an asset. We are looking for a hard-working individual with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and excellent organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe and Esilaw are essential for this position. Familiarity with CORES, PPR and SPIN2 are also an asset.
Some of the responsibilities for this position would include:
- draft and review correspondence, letters, and legal documents
- coordination of meetings
- filing legal documents
- Client correspondence and phone calls
Along with your knowledge of Excel, it is important to be comfortable with numbers and general accounting for preparation of accounts and posting of time entries.
