Responsibilities:
- General turning of small to large bar stock for the manufacturing of hydraulic cylinder components
- General machining of mechanical components including boring, broaching and keyway cutting
- Machining of hardened materials
- Threading
- Ability to measure (and machine) as per sample components
- Maintain tight tolerances as per requirements
- Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and blueprints
- Verify all measurements using standard instruments
- Miscellaneous shop duties
- Machinist trade certification (or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years industry experience
- Must be experienced in the use of manual Lathes, milling machines, horizontal boring mills, and general shop equipment
- Advanced manual machining skills
- Knowledge of safety practices and safety consciousness
- Ability to follow instructions and work without close supervision
- Willing to put in overtime hours as required
- Reliable, organized and punctual
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook
