The Battlefords Housing Authority (TBHA) has an opportunity for a Maintenance Utility Worker for a term of approximately eleven (11) months to join their team and contribute to a vibrant community. Our housing is well maintained and provides a safe, stable, and affordable option for seniors, families, individuals, and persons with disabilities in The Battlefords and district. The Maintenance Utility Worker represents the Housing Authority and brings the ability to promote and participate in positive working relationships with tenants, housing authority employees, contractors, service providers, and respect people's diversity and individual differences.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, plan and set priorities, demonstrate good judgement, be a self-starter and task oriented.
The position is responsible for completing custodial duties including garbage removal and janitorial tasks, minor painting and repair projects, groundskeeping maintenance and snow removal work, and assisting maintenance staff with routine and preventative maintenance tasks.
A Grade 12 education, basic computer skills, and 1 - 3 years' experience in a maintenance and repair environment OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience would be considered an asset. The ability to lift heavy loads, use hand and power tools is required.
A valid driver's license, reliable, roadworthy vehicle and an approved Enhanced (Vulnerable Sector) criminal record check are conditions of employment.
