Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance Application Operations. This position will leverage core finance systems process knowledge and experience in order to provide application and business support to the global user community, business and IT partners. All responsibilities carried out in accordance with Code of Conduct, RBC Values and Guiding Principles ensuring adherence to Privacy Principles.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for three to five team members
  • Ensuring accuracy, validity and completeness of all documentation necessary to meet organizational, industry, and governmental regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting interviews with subject matter experts to assess documentation requirements that enhance compliance with state, federal and financial regulations to mitigate legal or financial risk.
  • Fostering open communication and information sharing within the organization to ensure that managers are knowledgeable of documentation-related responsibilities, goals, initiatives and their established deadlines.
  • Partnering and interacting with internal and external auditors and customers to ensure comprehension and compliance of policies, procedures, processes and related documents.
  • Responsible for the ongoing management and administration of Finance Systems (e.g. EPM, TLM, PeopleSoft, Finance DataMart) including scheduling, data validations, incident investigation and resolution, governance and knowledge management
  • As subject matter expert (SME) identify new requirements and system enhancement opportunities to drive Finance System improvements and efficiencies.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or Business Technical/Professional Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Cognos TM1 (EPM) tools an asset
  • Management/leadership experience with a strong understanding of operations and finance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Adept in working with large volumes of data in an Excel environment
