Classification: Director/Manager Financial Reporting
Compensation: $110000.00 to $120000.00 yearly
Our client, a thriving firm, who are ranked eighth largest in their industry in Canada, are looking for a Manager Financial Reporting. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities of all operating retirement residences – 34 at present. The Manager will supervise a team of property accountants, A/R and A/P clerks and have functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash flow monitoring. There are eight direct reports for this role.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS IS A 100% IN OFFICE ROLE.
Role Snapshot (not limited to):
• Monthly Internal reporting which includes preparing the monthly financial package to be presented to senior management.
• Work with the property accountants to ensure that reporting deadlines are met monthly.
• Year End Reporting.
• Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain internal controls and safeguards for invoice approvals and cheque issuance.
• Work closely with Regional Vice Presidents, and Executive Directors in the field to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures.
• Daily cash flow summaries, submitted and discussed with VP and CFO.
• Prepare monthly and periodic GST/PST submissions.
• Oversee rent payment submissions to the bank monthly for all operating homes.
• Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements for senior management.
• Quarterly reporting requirements for various government programs.
Requirements
About You:
You have excellent communication skills and are comfortable communicating with the C-Suite. You are a self starter and a team player. You are self motivated, collaborative and have a hands-on approach managing multiple deadlines. You are an excellent team manager. You are not afraid to get your hands dirty by diving into the deep end.
Your Key Qualifications:
• CPA (public accounting experience Big 6/midsize firm).
• University Degree.
• SOLID experience with IFRS-IAS 16 (Property, Plant & Equipment).
• Team Management experience.
• 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, consolidations, policies & procedures.
• Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP). NAVISION experience is considered an asset.
