The Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of servers. He/She ensure the availability of the servers and applications.
Duties and responsibilities
- Install server hardware. Install and configure new software systems on servers.
- Manage Domain Controller functions such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, GPO
- Create and maintain network user accounts in Windows environments
- Manage Network Administrative tasks such as Employees Moves, adds, & Changes
- Manage the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of Networks and servers (Local Servers Only)
- Install and configure Windows servers to meet the users' needs.
- Manage backups and restores.
- Implement and configure VMWare ESX Infrastructure.
- Manage VMWare environment for Windows Servers using vSphere, HA, DRS, EVC
- Manage VMWare environment for VDI infrastructure using VMWare View, Thin-Client, vSphere, HA, DRS, EVC
- Assume position VDI system administrator during the absence of the primary specialist
- Monitor the network to ensure its availability
- Provide day-to-day onsite and remote administrative support for Server software users.
- Provide Telecom Voice and mobility support
- Install and manage CISCO Switches and Routers.
- Manage VNX5300 NAS Storage array such as CIFS,NFS,iSCSI
- Provide the appropriate training to the Service Desk Associates
- Complete IT Controls as required by SOX compliance
- Manage vendor service contacts
- Lead and Implement IT Projects.
- Analyze problems and propose solutions. Troubleshoot the organization's LAN servers and workstations and assist IBM in telecomm issues.
- Integrate and maintain Disaster recovery solutions for LAN, SAN, NAS and Servers.
- Manage the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of enterprise grade networks
- Oversee telecommunications systems including IP infrastructure (wired, wireless, Internet and VPN), and data.
- Oversee and maintain video communication such as Polycom Video Conference, Webinars and desktop sharing
- Manage performance of a multiple hardware and software platform interface at the most complex level.
- Act as primary organizational interface with vendors and provide internal analysis and support.
- Manage wireless network on site and satellite office
- Monitor and maintenance of local network and escalations with 3rd party providers. Manage security updates, Trendmicro and Cyberwatch
- Oversee security systems on site, manage configuration and permissions (door access, surveillance)
- Position requires Bachelor's degree in computer science or Information Systems or 2-3 years relevant experience.
- Ability to Maintain, configure, design and Implement NAS and i-SCSI Infrastructure, VMWare Infrastructure.
- Comfortable with disaster recovery methodologies
- Understand Fiber-Channel networks with Fiber-Channel Switches and HBA's
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
- Master protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, VLAN, RIP, etc...
- Have a working knowledge to maintain SAN, iSCSI and NAS storage technologies.
- Knowledge of Cisco Wireless technologies such as LWAP, WEP, CHAP, LEAP
- Comfortable to configure, design and Implement IP Infrastructures using Cisco Catalysts, Routers and Wireless A/P's
- Specialize in data communications.
- Excellent understand of Windows Workstation and Server Operating Systems.
- Comfortable with Firewall technologies such as CISCO Pix
- Ability to install, configure, and document IBM-MQseries services & Infrastructure.
- Works under minimal supervision
