Site Manager TBM Transit Operations
Job Duties:
Site Manager is responsible for the daily operations in relation to servicing and cleaning Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) commuter buses, Street Cars in a unionized environment
Responsible for maintenance, verification and implementation of the project quality assurance program/system safety plan; ·
Responsible for all TBM workers at the garage, assigns work schedules, supervise the assigned activities and administers the progressive discipline system; ·
Prepare various reports service reports, quality assurance audit checklists and participates in audits ·
Provides recommendations and feedback to client, site personnel towards quality deficiencies; ·
Identifies and Reports conditions that require corrective action and follow up to ensure completion
- Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees;
- Coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards
- Work towards strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes
· Organize and monitor worker schedules:
- Manage and ensure adherence to budget constraints, initiating corrective actions;
- Ensure adherence to all Health and Safety best practices and maintain safety program and implement as required
- Conduct daily tailgate meetings, JHSC safety meetings and safety talks as required;
- Participate and be an active member of JHSC and must attend all meeting
- Perform other duties as required or assigned;
- Skills, Qualifications and Competencies
- 2-5 years of progressive experience pertaining to transit or transportation maintenance garage environment and /or related infrastructure planning, programming;
- Site Managers require strong communication and people skills;
- Ability to use computers for communications and submitting various reports;
- Conduct and document employee appraisals, discipline interviews and various investigations;
- Manage and motivate workers at all levels or stages of tasks;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a initiative-taker, with a commonsense approach to identify work that is required;
- Excellent people skills with exceptional team building skills
- Analytical, problem-solving skills without the fear of making decisions;
- Stress management skills and time management skills and abilities;
- Work experience in dealing with a unionized environment is considered an asset;
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada;
Language Skills
- Ability to speak, read and write English fluently and relay information between the team, customers and office staff
- Capable of using computer programs such as Microsoft office
Report to Director of Transit Operations & President, Transit & Safety Division
- Reports Manpower totals and service output
- Reports and maintain on site records of Health and Safety, discipline and HR issues
- Files necessary reports to TTC Stakeholders on a nightly basis
