Onsite Event Specialist at MicroSpec Systems Inc.
We are hiring Onsite Event Specialists to travel to work at trade and consumer shows, expos, and festivals across the U.S. and Canada setting up and maintaining hardware for registration and ticketing services. Specialists train and manage onsite staff to use our proprietary software.
Job Description
The Onsite Specialist’s primary role will be working onsite at events across North America setting up and supporting the onsite component of shows. You will partner with a Registration or Ticketing coordinator to manage a portfolio of shows. Your role will include:
Coordinating with the client for all on-site event needs
Testing of equipment pre-show
Participating in pre-show and post show meetings
Travel to various venues across North America so you must enjoy travel
You will be responsible for setting up the systems and network
You are responsible for the entrance experience at all B2B and consumer events
Onsite support for Lead Retrieval
Training staff on proprietary software
Supporting scanning requirements
Troubleshooting as needed
Packing of crates
Onsite work at events are long days, evenings, weekends, STAT holidays, etc. (this is the nature of the show industry)
When not onsite you will be assigned to a department to assist with overflow of work. This can include but is not limited to the operations department, ticketing department and registration department which will include a mix of in-office work and work from home.
Competencies
You are comfortable with booking flights, hotels, and travel. Are capable of working long days when required. Enjoy working with computer hardware, understand basic networking and have an understanding of Google’s suite of apps. You like the challenge of learning new computer programs. Your strengths are customer service, planning, organization and coordination skills, proactive, self motivating, analytical with an eye for detail, practical, results oriented, hands-on, strong verbal and written communication, organizational awareness, and a fast learner. You cope well with stressful situations and enjoy working with people.
Skills
Two or more years customer service experience, event experience preferred
Read , write, and speak English clearly and professionally (French is an asset)
You are physically fit and active and can spend long periods of time walking, standing, kneeling, sitting, stretching, and carrying 25lbs as required, and pushing 500lbs crates on wheels
You are double vaccinated to access venues across North America and can show proof of vaccination
You have a valid passport and you are happy to travel to Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, New York and other destinations across North America to install, manage, and teardown onsite registration, ticketing and lead retrieval services
You can provide a 5-year certified driver's record from the Government of Ontario
