The ministry is accepting applications for Permanent Full-time Parental Care Workers at Prince Albert Youth Residence. Parental Care Workers are positive, motivated and energetic role models that are non-judgmental and have excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Parental Care Workers are leaders that embrace diversity and equality. This is a night shift position that encompasses shifts of 11pm to 7am and 11pm to 11am.
Successful Completion of COPAT (Correctional Officer Physical Abilities Testing) will be required for candidates not currently employed or having been employed at a Correctional Center or Young Offender Facility within the previous 24 months. The Corrections Officers Physical Abilities Test (COPAT) is a timed physical abilities test that is comprised of activities designed to reflect the physical challenges faced in a corrections environment.
Successful completion of a ten-week Induction Training Program (ITP) will be required to maintain employment (Note: Prior to the commencement of ITP, candidates must have medical clearance to participate in the Corrections Worker Restraint Training).
