The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sports mission is to enhance economic growth and support quality of life by managing the provincial parks system and providing recreation, sport, heritage and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors. The Ministry is currently seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Maintenance Worker for provincial park lands within Good Spirit Provincial Park of Saskatchewan Parks Service. Reporting to the Supervisor, this position will be involved in the maintenance program.
As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform a variety of repair and general maintenance activities on buildings and grounds. You will operate light-to-medium equipment such as light trucks, riding mower, skid steer, power tools and other equipment as directed. Perform janitorial and sanitation functions, pick up & disposal of garbage and debris and will assist with the maintenance and care of park facilities and grounds. Will assist with the monitoring and inspection of the water systems and sewer systems under the direction of the supervisor. This position involves frequent lifting, carrying and moving supplies/equipment. You must comply with risk management standards, OH&S, Public Health Regulations, WHMIS, TDG. Candidate must possess a current valid Drivers Licence and be available to work on weekends. This position may be required to supervise staff.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of basic cleaning methods (materials, equipment and methods commonly used in housekeeping/janitorial and sanitation activities); safe equipment and building operation, maintenance and minor repair. You will have knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S Regulations.
The successful candidate will have experience and ability to perform building and/or Park Maintenance using common hand tools and light equipment.
