Full Throttle Power Sports is a state-of-the-art Power Sports Dealership located in Dartmouth Crossing. Privileged to be representing Atlantic Canada with BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) and a full line up in sales, service, and parts, from Ski-Doo snowmobiles, Sea-Doo personal watercraft, Can-Am ATV and side-by-sides, and Spyder motorcycles. Meridia is happy to partner with Full Throttle Power Sports in search for a Parts Manager to join their team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The Parts Manager will be responsible to manage and direct the parts team. Responsibilities will include directing and coordinating activities of the parts team and assisting in administering organization policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers. The Parts Manager will also be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation process of the parts department and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a balanced inventory consistent with the needs of the service department and the general public.
  • Monitor and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence.
  • Utilize geographical and categorical bins to accommodate stocking by size and movement.
  • Implement and maintain daily cycle counting process to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure that all returned or warranty parts are properly tagged so that the dealership recovers full credit from the factory.
  • Oversee purchasing of supplies and materials for service department.
  • Direct shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing.
  • Assist in developing process to address issues and department sales promotions.
  • Seek out new vendors, suppliers and manufactures and negotiate terms and pricing for greater profitability.
  • Perform reviews on all staff members at least annually.
  • Constructively handle (or supervise the handling of) all customer complaints related to your department.
  • Perform miscellaneous responsibilities. Many miscellaneous duties correspond to the efficient administration of the parts department. It shall also be the responsibility of the Parts Manager to see that they are carried out or managed in a professional manner.
  • Assist staff in solving problems and improving their performance.
  • Analyze P&L statements to determine resource allocation.
  • Perform other duties as may be required.

Set Goals

  • Plan, organize, direct, and control your parts staff to meet these goals. Use these goals to help your department maximize their potential.
  • At the beginning of each month, counsel with each parts rep to establish realistic goals for the month and action plan.
  • Achieve forecasted goals by following (and, if necessary, adjusting) your written plan of action.
  • Monitor each subordinate's daily performance and compare it with their monthly goals. Those who are on or above their goals, should be recognized for their achievement. Those who are not on a pace to meet their goals should be given the help they need to get them back on target.

Maintain

  • Dealership standards. See to it that all the standards set for the parts department are met. This includes attendance tracking, professional appearance, and behavior.
  • Departmental budget.

Qualifications:

As the ideal candidate, you are a self-motivated professional possessing four years related experience and/or training in parts sales, along with a minimum of two years experience or equivalent in supervision/management. A thorough understanding of inventory control will be preferred. With exceptional organization and interpersonal skills, you are driven for success, willing to learn, and eager to be compensated for doing what you enjoy. A high school diploma or equivalent, along with a valid driver's license, is required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical Demands:

  • The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to use keyboard and computer for extended length of time.
  • The ability to spend the majority of the day on your feet.

Working Conditions:

  • The Parts Manager will potentially be exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle place of business.
