POSITION OVERVIEW:
This is a 9-month contractor position reporting to the Associate General Counsel and Director of PMO.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the implementation of a consent management system and data inventory tool including operationalizing new and updated privacy and security requirements as necessary.
- Support the continuous improvement of Privacy and Security Program tools, templates and processes.
- Work collaboratively with cross functional partners (Cybersecurity/Technology/Legal/Vendor Management) to initiate privacy and security processes.
- Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments as required
- Provide Privacy and Security Advisory services
- Help to investigate privacy or security incidents (i.e. breaches) and advise on response.
- Integrate privacy and security into other governance processes and assist in the development of intake channels that alert privacy when appropriate (vendor governance, technical project delivery process, data governance processes)
- Develop and deliver team specific training to internal audiences for new controls and processes.
- Have a post-secondary degree in related field or combination of education and experience with continuing professional development in security and privacy; IAPP Certification/CISPP or other privacy/security certification is an asset
- Have strong knowledge of privacy laws and best practices and upcoming privacy legislation in the Canadian and International context.
- Have demonstrated strong leadership skills and are able to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels within an organization
