Our Property Appraisal Advisor is an integral member of our Claims team. The Property team depends on your expertise to ensure its success. You'll need to quickly and effectively determine the fair costs of emergency services and best course of action for building repairs. You'll also need to communicate this to our adjusting teams and business partners in terms they can understand. You are an expert negotiator and communicator and drive win-win outcomes with our contractors, brokers and vendors. You are an estimating genius with a track record of success.

What will you do?

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of property damage estimates submitted to the Claims department
  • Identify and address any discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies with estimates.
  • Communicate with field adjusters, vendors, and other stakeholders to gather information and resolve any estimate-related issues.
  • Contribute to process improvements through sharing your expertise, providing guidance, and offering insight on industry best practices.

What will you need to be successful?

  • A minimum of 5 years' Claims experience
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Project Management or Estimator role
  • Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and construction practices
  • IICRC certifications in water remediation and applied structural drying certification including WRT, ASF, AMRT, and FSRT considered an asset
  • In depth knowledge of OBC and NBC requirements
  • Certification with asbestos and lead remediation considered an asset
  • QAS, CET or equivalent experience in loss quantification
  • Demonstrated experience in large loss quantification experience in excess of $500,000

Hybrid: This is a hybrid role that includes the flexibility to work remotely, but also regular in-person meetings in our Cambridge facility are expected.
