Job description

Founded in Vancouver, Canada in 2003, Plenty of Fish is one of the early pioneers in the online dating industry, with one of the largest and most diverse communities of singles. We're one of the top revenue-driving brands in the Match Group (comprised of Tinder, OkCupid, Hinge and Match.com).

We love what we do, and have the ability to profoundly impact millions of people's lives every single day! Named one of BC’s Top Employers, Plenty of Fish is a great place to build friendships, grow your career and collaborate with top talent.

We’re looking for a standout PR Manager who is confident, comfortable and poised as a media spokesperson.

As the PR Manager you will play a significant role in crafting memorable PR campaigns that elevate Plenty of Fish to media and consumers. You will work closely with the PR Director in driving initiatives that build awareness, enhance credibility, shift perception, and grow the positive reputation of the brand on a global scale. As the PR Manager you will act as spokesperson and dating expert for all media requests relating to dating trends and expert commentary, including live interview segments. This role is also responsible for all PR measurement, tracking and reporting, and acts as a PR liaison, working cross-functionally with other teams.

Please Note: You will have a choice of being Remote-First OR Office-First.

Remote First:
You will have the option to work remotely from the Lower Mainland area, but we will require attendance at our downtown Vancouver office for quarterly planning, important meetings, team get togethers or whenever you want to "crew together" IRL!

Office-First:
You will get to work from our downtown Vancouver office 2-3 days a week, and work remotely the remainder of the week!

So, what will you do?

  • Develop, lead and measure robust PR campaigns in multiple markets
  • Regularly conceptualise and implement fresh ways to keep Plenty of Fish relevant within the mediascape.
  • Develop and edit communications materials including press release copy, reactive and proactive statements, user surveys, external surveys, pitches, briefing documents, bylines etc.
  • Develop, plan, and implement a variety of external events involving vendors, media and talent
  • Track and analyze global media coverage on an ongoing basis, providing regular updates to partners and senior leadership
  • Be a supporting point of contact to PR agencies
  • Lead the crisis communications and escalation processes and procedures cross functionally from start to finish

You’ll be a match for the role if you…

  • Have a strong communications track record
  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience in a fast-paced PR environment
  • Are a strong self-starter and creative thinker who brings fresh perspectives to drive new PR
  • Possess outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Enjoy acting as a media spokesperson
  • Have your finger on the pulse of social media trends and have a keen sense for incorporating Plenty of Fish into media moments that matter
  • Get excited by data and finding new ways to measure and communicate the value of your function
**We would love to hear from you, even if you don't match 100% of the requirements**

Why Plenty of Fish?
  • We're recognized as one of BC's Top Employers 2022!
  • We have remote options available
  • Generous vacation, flex days, professional development days
  • RRSP matching, and employee stock purchase plan
  • Professional development budget and unlimited access to Udemy from the day one
  • Match Group mentorship program
  • Parental leave top up and fertility preservation benefits
  • Extended health & dental benefits from day one
  • Corporate ClassPass membership and other wellness benefits
  • And many more on our careers page

Our Values
  • Be Proud - It's OUR sh*p. Own it! We see challenges as opportunities and take action.
  • Make Waves - We profoundly impact millions of peoples' lives, every day.
  • Dive Deep - We empathize with our members and use data to surface smart decisions.
  • Crew Together - We love what we do, have fun, and are free to be ourselves.
