Acadian Seaplants Limited is on the hunt for our next incredible and dynamic QA Coordinator based in our Manufacturing Facility in Cornwallis Park, Nova Scotia.

Your Role:

The QA Coordinator (QAC) will be responsible for assisting Acadian Seaplants with ISO Audits, Preparing Reports, investigating Customer Complaints and Non-Conformance issues, managing the laboratory functions including but not limited to arranging and monitoring external analysis, ordering supplies, approving Purchase Orders, scheduling equipment checks and calibration services. This role will also be tasked with training the various teams in the facility on SOP's and ensuring compliance for ISO Audits.

Qualifications/Competencies:

  • BSc. Degree or community college diploma in a scientific discipline, or an equivalent level of working experience. Proved track record as an effective team member in a manufacturing environment, with excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Knowledge of Chemistry and Standard Laboratory Techniques would be an asset.
  • Experience in an industry environment would be an asset.
  • Competency in MS Excel and Word. Effective presentation skills. Ability to think critically and act logically to evaluate situations and make decisions. An essential requirement is attention to detail in all aspects of this position. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Commitment to excellence.
  • ISO 9000 Standard Knowledge
  • Experience conducting internal ISO 9000 Audits and preparing reports
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Risk Assessment and HACCP.
  • Quality Assurance background
  • Experience in an industry environment would be an asset.
  • Some knowledge on conducting Environmental monitoring would be beneficial.
  • Self motivated on the job.
