About the Role
Corus Radio Vancouver and 980 CKNW have an exciting opportunity for a part time Technical Producer in our Vancouver studios. Reporting to the Brand Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the presentation of "The Shift Weekend Edition" on the Corus Radio Network, and this will include the production of this live and recorded daily talk show and features, podcasting, and audio production. The Shift Weekend Edition airs Friday - Saturday from 10pm - 5am.
You will be working on things like:
- Operate the master control board, Media Touch and Burli during a live, local talk show, including controlling mic levels, phone calls, imaging elements, commercials, and all other audio sources during the course of a show.
- Knowledge of Media Touch and the ability to set up a studio and prepare log for broadcast.
- Knowledge of Burli
- Collaborate with show producer and host for content.
- Collaborate with other producers on story development and dialogue.
- Collaborate with the Global Newsroom on breaking news execution.
- Edit and upload show audio, features and other programming as needed.
- Assist the Production Department with features and production elements.
- Experience in the radio industry, and familiarity with the News - Talk format.
- Computer and editing skills.
- A friendly, positive, team player who deals well with stress.
- A working understanding of Media Touch and Burli is helpful, as well as technical/computer/editing skills.
- Intermediate to advanced digital audio editing skills.
- The ability to multitask, communicate, stay calm and trouble shoot in high pressure & evolving situations.
- The ability to anticipate and quickly react to an on air situation.
- A creative thinker who enhances on air programming with appropriate music and sound effects in a timely manner.
