Address Seeking Internal Medicine Specialist- Burin, Newfoundland (Supervision Available)
Eastern Health is accepting expressions of interest for a full-time Internal Medicine Specialist. The successful applicant will be based at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin, NL. This position will commence as soon as possible.
Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre is situated in the town of Burin. Burin is a beautiful rural town about 200 kilometers outside of St. John's. Marystown has a population of approximately 5,000 and Burin has a population of approximately 2,000. The general catchment area for the Burn Peninsula Health Care Centre has a population of approximately 20,000 people. There are many amenities in the area, such as hiking and biking trails, restaurants, local theater and shopping.
Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre has 41 acute care beds. Specialty Services include Anesthesia, Chemotherapy, Diabetes Education, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, Gynecology, Obstetrics, ICU/Cardiac, Laboratory, Palliative care, Pathology (off site), Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Ultrasonography and 24-hour Emergency coverage. Further supportive services include laboratory services, nursing, nutritional, pharmacy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, pastoral care, radiology, social work, diabetic education and speech language pathology along with visiting specialty clinics.
Skills required:
Medical Degree with specialist training in Internal Medicine.
Royal College of Canada Eligibility or Certification.
MCCQE1 exam or a complete set of USMLE's
Eligible for registration and license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.
