Department: ROF Process & Cavern Engineering Area

Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Redwater office is recruiting for a Cavern Technologist or Cavern Engineer, to join the team.  This position reports to the Supervisor, ROF Process & Cavern in the Natural Gas Liquids Business Unit (NBU) part of Pembina’s Facilities Division. 
NBU is involved in the Fractionation, Terminaling & Storage, and Logistics and Distribution of specification natural gas liquids throughout north America. Natural Gas Liquids are components of natural gas classified by weight and number of carbon atoms – Methane (C1), Ethane (C2), Propane (C3) Butane (C4) and Condensate (mixture of C5+). Fractionation involves separating the different products in an NGL mix out into Ethane, Propane and Butane.
 This individual is responsible for providing support to the NBU teams around daily cavern operational requirements, well integrity management, as well as workover and mechanical integrity testing (MIT) oversight.
 
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
-Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina/safety;
-Complete and compile annual regulatory reports and budgets;
-Develop cavern workover and mechanical integrity test (MIT) completion programs, as well as downhole maintenance operations requiring rigless services such as coil tubing, wireline, disposal well acid injections etc;
-Source the wellsite services and equipment for wellheads, valving, Christmas trees, and downhole equipment required for workovers and MITs;
-Generate and forecast Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) as per the Pembina financial processes;
-Promote and monitor financial spending and cost control, which includes updating monthly forecasting and departmental budgets as required; 
-Act as a technical advisor and subject matter expert to service and drilling rig operations on a day-to-day basis;
-Comply with all Pembina reporting requirements, including incidents, near misses, hazard identification, environmental spills/releases, and regulatory compliance issues;
-Support and participate in safety initiatives such as safety meetings, safe work permitting, incident and the Positive Safety Recognition program;  
-Train, mentor and coach third-party contractors on site policies and procedures related to downhole cavern activities; 
-Provide coaching and training on Cavern Operations as required to Pembina staff, including Operations, Engineering and Technical (OET), and maintenance; and
-Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
 
Qualifications:
-Engineering degree or Engineering Technologist diploma is considered an asset;
-Previous experience in downhole wellbore activities, such as a cavern/completion/production engineering or technology, or as a coil tubing/wireline/toolhand/wellsite/rig supervisor;
-Strong skills in both oral and written communication; and
-Team-oriented and proactively collaborates across all disciplines in the organization, including vendors, contractors, and regulatory bodies. 
 
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing.  You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract. The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Redwater, AB.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
