Reporting to the OVH Director, PHSA Clinical Adoption and Integration, the Manager, Clinical Adoption and Integration is responsible for leadership in the implementation of Virtual Health within the clinical setting, in partnership with the PHSA Clinical Program clinicians and leaders, as well as with PHSA Provincial Clinical Programs and Health Improvement Networks to advance their key strategies and goals for the adoption and integration of Virtual Health as a service delivery model. The Manager, Clinical Adoption and Integration designs goals and work plans collaboratively with managers both in the Office of Virtual Health and the clinical programs to develop, implement, manage, and evaluate Virtual Health initiatives. The Manager will also collaborate with the Director, Partnerships and System Enablers on Virtual Health initiatives that involve collaboration with other health organizations in BC. Uses expertise in clinical service delivery, operations and Virtual Health to support clinical programs to integrate Virtual Health, and maximize adoption of Virtual Health as a way of delivering services.
The Manager, Clinical Adoption and Integration, Office of Virtual Health is a key member of the Virtual Health team and is responsible for continuously increasing the successful adoption and integration of Virtual Health into the practice and culture of the organization, while preserving alignment with Quality Systems and organizational strategic direction for excellence in care and service. The Manager, Clinical Adoption and Integration is an advocate for Virtual Health and represents the Office of Virtual Health on various committees as required. The Manager, Clinical Adoption and Integration guides the development, recommendation and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines for Virtual Health.
What you’ll do
- Supports the creation of strategies of Virtual Health in alignment with the program clinical strategy priorities and goals and with PHSA Virtual Health strategy and readiness by working directly with clinicians, managers and patients.
- Leads and supports the strategy, development, and integration of clinical workflow design and protocols to successfully support the adoption and integration Virtual Health into care delivery models.
- Collaborates and consults with various departments to identify, develop, implement, evaluate and report on the strategic implementation of Virtual Health initiatives throughout the organization.
- Leads the re-design of services to transform in-person service delivery to Virtual delivery, including patient partners, clinicians, administrative staff, leaders and vendors as applicable.
- Provides direct support to clinical programs throughout the planning and implementation of Virtual Health initiatives. In collaboration with the Director, implements action plans, tools and key communication systems for engaging stakeholders about Virtual Health initiatives.
- Provides clinical expertise to the Virtual Health Managers to support the clinical process transformation and change management strategies to enable Virtual Health as mainstream care delivery at the point of care.
- Ensures sustainment of process improvements are achieved through Virtual Health through audits/evaluations and feedback/reports.
- Works with program supports in quality improvement, professional practice, and system transformation to ensure integration of Virtual Health initiatives in the clinical environment are consistent with clinical practice frameworks. Negotiates with clinical programs and the Office of Virtual Health team to determine resource requirements to implement Virtual Health initiatives across PHSA
- Provides advice and direction related to adoption and integration of Virtual Health. Leads, develops, and executes clinical use cases, implementation and education strategies, clinical evaluation and performance metrics.
- Promotes PHSA Virtual Health best practice policies, procedures, processes, mechanisms and tools that anchor all activities. Promotes consistencies and sustainability of approach for all PHSA programs implementing Virtual Health initiatives.
- Analyzes current clinical workflow patterns and proposes new patterns of workflow that maximize the use of Virtual Health technology and identifies risks and opportunities. Ensures quality professional practice environments that promote safe, competent and ethical care by developing guidelines and protocols to support Virtual Health patient visits.
- Liaises with existing PHSA programs using Virtual Health to review their experience utilizing Virtual Health and to examine methods of increasing adoption. Establishes input/feedback mechanisms for stakeholders, evaluates and makes recommendations on practice and systems.
- Creates and applies resources and tools that enable efficient clinical analysis, interpretation and evaluation of Virtual Health.
- Acts a role model for continuous learning and liaises, educates and collaborates with departmental, organizational and provincial leaders, care and service providers to advance individual and organizational practice capacity for Virtual Health.
- Initiates regular scans of the environment, literature and innovative projects to identify emerging practice trends as they relate to Virtual Health.
- Represents PHSA as a clinical expert participant in Virtual Health on key organizational and provincial committees as assigned.
- Maintains familiarity with health care industry developments in Virtual Health and advises on implementation of related standards, tools and processes. Maintains competencies in Virtual Health and patient self-management in multiple clinical use cases.
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in a related health discipline such as Nursing, a patient care/clinical related discipline, and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a health care environment, including experience working in Virtual Health. Experience with system transformation and quality improvement or in a leadership role is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated attention to detail. Strong organizational and time management skills. Knowledgeable regarding new trends in Virtual clinical practice and information systems. Knowledge and practice in effective problem-solving techniques. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clinical, technical, operational and vendor staff. Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team. Change oriented and possesses an attitude of continuous improvement. Self-motivated, able to work with minimal direct supervision, and has a demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload in a self-directed manner. Ability to coach, facilitate and lead others. Research and evaluation skills and asset. Advanced computer skills required including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Visio, Outlook and Excel. Project management and public speaking/presentation skills are an asset. Adult education, health coaching, and patient self-management skills. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: $96,429 - $138,617 /year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
