What is the opportunity?

The Senior Content Specialist will support the Employer Brand and Workplace Marketing team with the creation of a variety of content that brings RBC’s Employer Brand story to life. The person in this position will work directly with the Senior Director of Employer Brand & Workplace Marketing, the Senior Manager of Employer Brand, HR leaders and business line leaders to fulfill a variety of content needs, including website content, byline articles, social media and ad copy, etc. all with the goal of driving recruitment marketing and thought leadership opportunities to further position RBC as an employer of choice. The Senior Content Strategist will also work closely with internal partners in Communications, Benefits & Wellness, Diversity & Inclusion and Citizenship teams.

What will you do?

Content Creation & Storytelling
Researches, develops and writes content for recruitment marketing and employer brand initiatives across all channels (e.g. website, social media, print, internal channels). Content will span a variety of topics, including job marketplace trends, employee profiles, benefits & perks, etc.
Support ongoing enablement of RBC’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP) internally and externally to position RBC as an employer of choice
Create marketing message maps for key talent segments to inform recruitment marketing strategies and content using the EVP as the foundation.
Attend RBC events in order to write and amplify content internally and externally.
Guide content through the approval process to ensure stakeholder feedback is captured.
Maintain editorial calendar
Social Media
Write content to support recruitment marketing campaigns, including social media ads, posts and website copy.
Author organic social posts for leaders and partner with Enterprise social and Communications teams to gather feedback and publish
Take existing People & Culture content and package it in compelling ways to amplify it for our employees, leaders and the external marketplace.
Compile and share posts for employees as part of the brand champions employee social media program
Proactively maintain and refresh external digital channel content on platforms that are managed by the Employer Brand & Workplace Marketing team; such as LinkedIn, Glassdoor and Indeed
Award Submissions
Assist with RBC’s application to employer of choice award competitions that help position RBC as a leading employer and broadcast RBC’s global wins internally and externally
Act as the point-of-contact for partner teams (e.g. D&I team for Best Diversity Employers award) to provide awareness, gather and implement feedback

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, English, Journalism or PR/Communications.
Minimum 8-years-experience writing, editing for a variety of mediums.
Deep understanding of creating content for a variety of channels, including traditional media, social media, corporate websites, events.
Self-starter who shows initiative and is able to manage and plan around rapidly changing priorities and work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
Ability to gain credibility, rapport and support with all key internal stakeholders.
Impeccable editing skills.
Experience writing and editing content
Research skills and experience
Strong computer skills – PowerPoint, Word, Excel
Strong team player in a cross-functional setting
Strong problem solving/critical thinking capability
