- Provide deep dive business/function reviews, including completing a thorough analysis of your assigned business/function’s cost base and providing strategic direction to advise the business/function on decisions based on key findings
- Provide strategic insights into new business opportunities working with senior leaders in the business to manage assigned efficiency opportunity development to support and mature enterprise opportunity pipeline
- Manage and support assigned efficiency initiatives to embed and sustain our productivity program across the Bank
- Act as a finance SME within the Enterprise Efficiency team assisting in the gathering, interpretation, analysis and integration of finance information and data into efficiency initiatives
- Works with Performance Management Finance partners to ensure alignment between enterprise efficiency work and finance planning cycles and processes
- Become a trusted advisor to senior leaders, colleagues and business partners by providing strategic advice, driving ‘new ways of working’
- Effectively manage work streams and present deliverables within agreed-upon quality and timelines
- Recognize business complexity and help facilitate trade-off decisions to prioritize appropriate actions to achieve productivity and efficiency objectives
- Demonstrate techniques to build consensus with differing views in a constructive manner and if applicable, applying appropriate escalation practices
- Provide analysis of work completed and the outcomes effectively to executive audiences, using proper business, financial and functional language
- Identify risks/issues and provide solutions to minimize their impact on work stream timelines
- Openly share learnings and success drivers across the Enterprise Efficiency Team and the Enterprise, to support the establishment of sustainable processes and behaviours for productivity and efficiency
Must-have:
- 4+ years proven relevant experience in transformational process and strategy improvements that demonstrate strong analytical and structured problem solving skills, with a passion for challenging the status quo in a collaborative manner
- A strategic and innovative mindset to improve operational efficiency and productivity
- Experience as a business advisor is desired
- Accounting/Finance background with strong financial acumen and financial analysis skills
- Experience with financial reporting systems, financial data, business casing, planning and cost allocation processes
- Strong quantitative analysis experience (e.g. data analytics, financial/data modelling, process redesign)
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and through impactful presentations
- Confidence to advise senior leaders and respectfully challenge leaders
- Strong relationship-building and leadership skills, including ability to influence and bridge gaps between multiple stakeholder groups
- Critical Thinking (proven capabilities to use careful evaluation and judgement)
- Execution Excellence
- Comfort in a high-paced environments with high complexity and ambiguity
- Growth mindset, resting on a relentless appetite to learn, be challenged and develop new skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency - Excel, PowerPoint
Nice-to-have:
- Strategy or consulting experience in a Consulting Management, Financial Services, or Entrepreneurial environment, or other comparative experience
- Experience in a Finance Performance Management and/or Cost Efficiency function
- Post-graduate degree - MBA/EMBA, Masters in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a similar field
- CPA/CMA, CA, CFA or any other finance/risk accreditations
Job Summary
