Duties:
- must be first year apprentice with their registration letter or pocket card for shingler
- Install and repair roofs using various materials such as asphalt, wood, metal, or tile
- Measure and cut roofing materials to fit specific dimensions
- Remove old roofing materials and inspect the roof for any damage or leaks
- Install underlayment and insulation to provide proper protection and insulation
- Apply shingles or other roofing materials in a neat and efficient manner
- Seal roof penetrations such as vents, chimneys, and skylights to prevent leaks
- Ensure proper ventilation in the attic to prevent moisture buildup
- Clean up debris and maintain a clean work area
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a shingler or in a related construction field is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and roofing plans
- Knowledge of different roofing materials, tools, and techniques
- Physical stamina and ability to work at heights for extended periods of time
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues on the job
- Valid driver's license is preferred
