Description

What you will do day-to-day:
-Loading smokehouses, coolers and drying rooms to ensure a smooth flow of product between kitchen, curing and packaging departments is met
-Perform minor maintenance to smokehouses and coolers
-Efficiently operate the smokehouses and associated computers and testing equipment and ensure product is handled, cooked, and tested properly
-Attend and actively participate in team meetings
-Observe and maintain company policies in food plant hygiene
-Provide support in department administration activities including record keeping and supply inventory
-Follow workplace safety procedures and policies
-Follow safe use of hazardous material used in the workplace
What education, skill sets & qualifications do we require:
-A minimum of 6 months experience working in a food manufacturing smokehouse is a must
-High School diploma or education at a higher level
-An understanding of HACCP principles, CFIA protocols, GMP guidelines and OH&S regulations
-Heavy workload that requires the ability to push & lift continuously throughout day (up to 22kg)
-Strong analytical and numerical skills
-Team-focused with strong people skills  
-Effective self-managing, problem solving, planning, organization and prioritization skills
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
