Job Description

What is the Opportunity?
As Senior Director, HR Mergers & Acquisition Advisory, you will provide strategic advice and counsel on all HR aspects of business acquisition/disposition/divestment transactions globally across each of our business lines. You will act as an accelerator for sustainable growth by capturing deal value through compelling employee experiences that engage and retain the best talent to position RBC for the future.

What will you do?

  • Advise and lead the end-to-end activities to evaluate all HR-related aspects of an acquisition or disposition, including the coordinate with RBC COE partners and the RBC Corporate Development deal teams.
  • Execute and support on key deliverables and milestones through a deal lifecycle.
  • Ensure a comprehensive HR integration and/or dis-integration plan is in place capturing and protecting deal value sources as well as complying with HR practices.
  • Execute a successful HR integration that delivers a positive employee experience, captures and protects HR deal value sources, meets timelines and HR deal targets / deliverables.
  • Lead key strategic initiatives and projects within the larger Compensation, Benefits, Pension and Reward Delivery COE as required. 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • 10+ years of experience in large corporate employee relations and/or an employment law practice and/or compensation, benefits and pension related fields.
  • Formal law background or finance background (MPA/CPA), or actuarial background (FCIA designation)
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills among senior leaders.
  • A strong drive to execute.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to analyze complex situations, synthesize information, understand issues, identify options, and support sound decision making; and integrate information from different sources into a coherent view
  • Understanding of employee relations, employment law, and a general awareness of compensation, benefits and pension program structures.

Job Summary

This role operates primarily on confidential RBC acquisitions, divestitures/dispositions and related transactions and as such day-to-day work will be subject to signed NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements) and this role will ensure that HR related deal activity is respectful and fair to employees while maintaining confidentiality.
