Storage Backup Designer

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Work with the Transition/Project team to deliver the Detail Design document.
• Perform design, provide an analysis of the feasibility and develop implementation strategies.
• Lead the design and presentation of Storage and backup infrastructure solution to TRB (Technical Review Board).
• Participate in configuration of the CGI's enterprise storage and backup Infrastructure.
• Works with other infrastructure teams and customers to design solutions of storage/backup and related technologies
• Understands, contributes to and promotes standards, guidelines and policies for the use and integration of storage and backup technology.
• Ability to conduct research into storage issues, standards, and products.
• Maintain detail design documents updated, illustrating the evolution and current state of the storage and backup infrastructure.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• 3-5 years of experience with design and implementation in a large enterprise environment.
• University or college diploma in IT
• ITIL certification an asset.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Good knowledge of Industry Standard best practices.
• Excels working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Bilingual (English & French) both verbal and written
• Ability to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance of Level II (Secret).
• Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation
• Ability to implement complex business solutions according to technical and financial requirements
• Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts in a sensitive business context
• Ability to communicate to different level people ( technical and business)
• Ability to make clear decisions according to key elements
• Accuracy and detail-oriented
• In-depth knowledge of backup software from Veritas and CommVault.
• Excellent written and oral communication including the ability to create and present professional documentation.
