Job description

CGI follows a flexible hybrid model, with employees working in the office for 2-3 days.

We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Storage/Backup Designer with Hitachi, that can work quickly, efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will join a team of diverse and talented resources that manage sophisticated, scalable and reliable environments.

Your future duties and responsibilities

- Work with the Transition/Project team to deliver the Detail Design document.
- Perform design, provide an analysis of the feasibility and develop implementation strategies.
- Lead the design and presentation of Storage and backup infrastructure solution to TRB (Technical Review Board).
- Participate in configuration of the CGI's enterprise storage and backup Infrastructure.
- Works with other infrastructure teams and customers to design solutions of storage/backup and related technologies
- Understands, contributes to and promotes standards, guidelines and policies for the use and integration of storage and backup technology.
- Ability to conduct research into storage issues, standards, and products.
- Maintain detail design documents updated, illustrating the evolution and current state of the storage and backup infrastructure.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

- University or college degree in IT
- Minimum 5 years of experience with design and implementation in a large enterprise environment with Hitachi.
- ITIL certification an asset.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Good knowledge of Industry Standard best practices.
- Excels working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Bilingual (spoken and written) is an asset
- Ability to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance of Level II (Secret) is an asset.
- Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation
- Ability to implement complex business solutions according to technical and financial requirements
- Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts in a sensitive business context
- Ability to communicate to different level people ( technical and business)
- Ability to make clear decisions according to key elements
- Accuracy and detail-oriented
- In-depth knowledge of backup software from Veritas and CommVault.
- Excellent written and oral communication including the ability to create and present professional documentation.
