Job Title Summer 2023- Insurance -Claims Initiatives Specialist Intern
Job Description
Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Summer 2023 placement with a start date of May 2023, and end-date of August 2023. In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:
- Be returning to school after the work term end-date of August 2023; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2023), you must require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
What is the opportunity?
As a Claims Initiatives Specialist you will assist with the adjudication of disability claims by participating in Claims Initiatives in a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary environment. You will also be responsible for applying appropriate risk management strategies and delivering superior service to our clients.
What will you do?
Contribute to Claims Initiatives through:
- Client correspondence, conducting telephone personal contacts (TPC’s), emails
- Case load reassignments, and distributing follow-up reports to the claim’s specialists
- Updating all systems with caseload changes and follow-up dates
- Reviewing files for existing offsets and pursuing offsets, as required
- Recognize and investigate complex issues and escalate, when appropriate these issues to their Claims Consultant or Senior Manager
- Effectively manage multiple clients’ needs and internal job demands
- Duties as assigned
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Ability to multitask and balance multiple goals and priorities according to deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skill
- Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with customers in a manner that is professional with a high degree of customer service
- Ability to effectively manage change
