SalaryA loving family in the Courtice area is seeking a supportive assistant to work with a curious, energetic, and enthusiastic male in his early 30’s who leads a full life at home and within his community. This role would be best suited for someone who is, reliable, creative and who can provide thoughtful and engaging accompaniment while ensuring his days are purposeful.

As a supportive assistant you should have strong observation and communication skills and be able to pay close attention to details. You can listen deeply and can be flexible and considerate of day-to-day changes. You work well independently and as part of a strong dynamic team. You have a strong willingness to learn and follow the lead and direction of the family.
Starting Available hours: Mon, Wed and Friday 930 – 1p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday 9-5 p.m. Flexibility in this role is important so having some availability on a weekend is an asset.
Some examples of role expectations and responsibilities:
- Comfort with hands on personal care and assistance with his activities of daily living (personal hygiene, showering, help with dressing, meal prep, maintaining a clean apartment within his home).
- Ensuring apartment is equipped with supplies/groceries needed to carry out tasks
- Explore current interests and be willing to create new opportunities.
- Work on personal goals related to health and wellbeing.
- Pursue lifestyle, goals, and interests typical of man in his early 30’s.
- Assistant him to strengthen family relationships and to help build new connections.
- Seek opportunities for building continued independence.
Staring rate of pay is $ 24 an hour. Having personal liability insurance, vulnerable police check, and current CPR is a huge asset.
**This is a self-employed Independent Support Worker position. This position works directly with a family and all scheduling and training is family lead**

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
