Responsibilities
- Provides first level IT support services to all facility users and clients for issues in various Linux and Windows operating systems, software applications, workstations, servers and other peripheral devices.
- Provide operational support by troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving problems with IT systems within the facility.
- Installation and maintenance of workstations, printers, plotters, CLS hardware systems, fiber optic and copper wire systems.
- Deploy and verify hardware & software systems required to provide and facilitate beamline control systems in the facility.
- Work collaboratively with the IT team to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Responsible for inventory management of CLS Facility computer equipment, applications, licensing, media & resources and liaising with third party manufacturers and/or suppliers.
- Act as coverage during period of leave, may undertake on-call duties on a rotational basis and additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Grade 12 diploma and relevant post-secondary diploma/certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of related experience supporting IT infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge and experience of Linux and Windows Technologies.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of TCP / IP network protocols, client and server architecture.
