Headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, we are a short line railway offering complete logistic and transportation solutions. We are currently looking for a Temporary Day Gang Foreman based in our Saint John location to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of Gangs
- Track inspection
- Effectively dealing with performance management & safety issues
- Complete & submit accurate/timely paperwork complying with all company regulations, policies & procedures
- Assist with planning & managing maintenance/initiatives in this area
- Provide safety meetings with your crew; promoting a safe work environment
- Monitor crew performance (operational tests, etc.)
- Must utilize Kronos to aide Assistant Roadmaster
- Safe & efficient operation of machine/equipment
- Must perform Track Maintainer duties (as required)
- Flexibility to train on more than 1 piece of equipment if required
Education Requirements/Knowledge & Skills
- CROR qualified, extensive track experience & knowledgeable in company policies/regulations
- Completed Track Inspector course
- Prior leadership experience would be an asset
- Excellent organizational skills & strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills
- Ability to make decisions as required
- Possess a commitment to customer service, productivity, teamwork and safe working practices
