Melfort Housing Authority (MHA) provides affordable housing to low-income seniors, families, and others who could not otherwise access safe, secure housing in Melfort and surrounding area. The Housing Authority has an opportunity for a Tenant Services Coordinator for a term of approximately six months. The position reports to and works closely with the MHA Manager and delivers a variety of support functions in collaboration with other staff. The Tenant Services Coordinator represents the Housing Authority and will bring proven professionalism and diplomacy with a respect for confidentiality and recognition of people's diversity and individual differences. Exceptional client relations skills, experience working with seniors, families, and at-risk individuals, and the ability to manage conflict and stressful situations are required.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail in completing income reviews, calculating rent or adjustments, explaining leasing agreements and expectations of tenancy. The position will coordinate/complete move-ins and move-outs, tenant administration including maintenance requests, fire drills, and attending tenant association meetings. In addition, the position will monitor, maintain contact with, and keep records pertaining to current and former tenants, and liaise with tenants, families, and community agencies and stakeholders to guide tenants in accessing resources.
Grade 12 with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination, and working knowledge of The Residential Tenancies Act are definite assets.
Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and approved Enhanced (Vulnerable Sector) criminal record check are conditions of employment.
