As the Fire Chief/Emergency Program Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of fire and emergency services to the region and leading and developing the Fire and emergency programs.
As the Fire Chief/Emergency Program Coordinator, you will report to the Director of Corporate Services and supervise a team of paid-on-call fire officers and firefighters. You will also be a city management team member and contribute to the organization's strategic planning and decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have:
To qualify for this position, you will need a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in fire and emergency services. It would help if you also had a degree or diploma in fire science, emergency management, public administration, or a related field. Additionally, you must have a valid Class 5 driver's license and a satisfactory driver's abstract.
Other qualifications include a valid Fire Officer III certification from the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or equivalent, a valid Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification or equivalent, and a valid Incident Command System (ICS) 300 certification or equivalent.
