Our client in the stamping and forging industry has an immediate opening for a Tooling Design Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and support all tooling design and concept development processes in a world class forging facility
- Support tooling concept development, forming simulation, and design for manufacturability
- Integral role in all major programs (New product launch/new manufacturing equipment)
- Design and develop tooling progressions
- Work with Manufacturing, Product Engineering, and the Staff Metallurgist to influence designs and product specifications using DFM principles
- Develop specifications for the procurement and installation of new equipment
- Support process improvement initiatives of existing production lines
- Develop process cost estimates for new business quoting initiatives
Key Qualifications
- BSc. Engineering or Technologist Diploma in an applicable Engineering discipline
- Experience in a stamping, metal forming, or progressive die/transfer dies facility is ideal
- Solid knowledge of forming simulation, tooling concept development, and/or design for manufacturability is preferred
- Automotive manufacturing experience an asset
- Familiarity with Product/Process Engineering principles will enhance candidacy.
This job is also known as Forging Engineer, Stamping Engineer and Tooling Design Engineer.
