Site: Nova Chemicals – Red Deer AB
Schedule: 6 days and 1 – 10 hour days (day and night shift available)
LOA On approval
Compensation: Competitive wages, Overtime, Vacation Pay, DSP’s on approval
Responsibilities
Test, troubleshoot, and repair transmitters, switches, and control valves.
Calibrate and adjust set points on a variety of different instruments.
Coordinate with control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers.
Install and trouble tubing and air actuated instruments.
Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
Repair faulty equipment or systems.
Understand and practice company policies and procedures.
Maintain safe work practices.
Other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
Must be an Alberta Apprenticeship Board recognized Instrumentation Journeyperson, or 4th year apprentice
Experience working turnaround(s) or construction in an operating Petro Chemical facility
CSTS 2020
Fall Protection (preferred not mandatory)
Energy Safety Canada tickets:
Compliance to client site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
Working Conditions

Working in a confined space
Working in and around noise and dust
Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
Must be clean shaven
Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,

Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
Stand or walk for long periods of time
