Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all Transit operations in the Waterloo region as well as contracts in nearby regions. Primarily focusing on internal logistics and coordinating operations between the Transit division and other operations support teams. This individual will work closely with Human Resources and Maintenance to support operations while managing the individuals within the operation.
Primary Responsibilities
People Management
- Direct the activities of Transit drivers in London, ensuring that drivers are meeting the standards set out in the various London contracts and ensuring business activities continue to be managed during staff vacation/sick leaves.
- Monitor performance of staff through site visits, complete incident/collision reports and conduct follow-up when required, provide annual performance review input and resolving problems.
- Assist and co-ordinate driver on-boarding and orientation processes for new hires.
- Available on-call for divisional emergencies which may include holidays and weekends.
- Maintain work schedules and ensure coverage is provided at all times.
- Function as a key contact to support teams such as maintenance, human resources and health and safety.
- Maintain paperwork and timesheets and oversee all elements of the process.
- Ensure timely and accurate entering of payroll.
The ideal candidates will posses the following qualifications that include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Relevant college diploma or equivalent
- Valid "F’ class Driving License
- Clean Drivers Abstract and Criminal Record check with Vulnerable Sector screening
- Must be able to travel regularly amongst the various locations on a regular basis
