1.0 FTE TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT

SOCIAL STUDIES 8-9, English 9, Electives 8-9

EFFECTIVE: January 29, 2024 to June 30, 2024 (Second Semester)

• NOTE: The Elective portion of this assignment will be adapted to reflect the qualifications of the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will:

Have University qualifications and successful teaching experience in teaching the above listed subject areas at a secondary level;

Foster a student-centered environment in the classroom;

Be able to work with students with a variety of behaviors and use positive approaches to support behaviour change;

Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and ability to work as a team member;

Be familiar with and willing to apply principles of self-regulation;

Have knowledge and commitment to using current assessment strategies, including formative assessment;

Have a commitment to the direction of the school as outlined in the School Growth Plan;

Embed the First Nations Principles of Learning in all subject areas;

Be committed to and practice the philosophy of inclusion;

Have experience in the use of technology in the classroom;

Be committed to working as a cooperative, collaborative member of a school wide instructional team and attend meetings as required;

Be committed to consultation, parent conferences, and positive home/school/community liaison.

SALARY: The starting annual salary for this full-time Secondary School position ranges from $60,891 to $106,838, with placement on the range based on length of services and qualification in accordance with the collective agreement. Additionally, $2,947 annually as a Remote & Rural Allowance.
