Contingent Workers Job Description:
- Reporting to the AVP Finance, Shared Services, this student will be responsible for performing various functions within the Finance department, including participating and contributing to various projects and departmental initiatives.
Accountabilities include:
- Assist department with various monthly and quarterly ledger reconciliations
- Assist accounts payable analyst in preparing weekly disbursements, including miscellaneous banking tasks
- Assist Shared Resources team in completing expense accruals and analyses where possible
- Assist Financial Reporting team with various adhoc reconciliation cleanups and investigations
- Assist Finance team with various adhoc process efficiencies and process improvements, documentation, etc
- Provide support as needed with various adhoc reconciliations in other departments as needed (actuarial, underwriting, claims)
Candidate should profess the following skills:
- High performance and integrity, key attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and support team through peak periods with time sensitive deliverables
- Demonstrated superior computer skills, advanced skills in MS excel
- Knowledge of financial concepts and accounting experience
- Enrolled in 3 to 5 years of university / colleague program at time of internship, working towards a degree in Finance, Math, Accounting, Economics
