Daily support and processing of Income payments.

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will process and reconcile Dividend and Interest payments.  This entails the accurate and timely processing of all clients’ Entitlements, the control and collections of Income proceeds from Depositories and Issuers, and reconciliation of suspense account activities.

In addition, you will deliver service commitments to the clients’ satisfaction by ensuring that all work functions are completed accurately and on a timely basis; and manage Operational risk, financial control, development of the team’s operational capabilities and to optimize operational efficiency.

What will you do?

  • Ensures that all Income events are researched and processed on an accurately and timely basis.
  • Ensures all payments received from depositories, wire or cheque has been processed by end of day.
  • Closely reviews and investigates Income suspense accounts to ensure that each outstanding item is identified and cleared promptly.
  • Works with the other members of the department to ensure that service issues relating to Income Collections are addressed.
  • Complete reconciliations of record date positions that appear in the exception log – incorrect payments will be measured against reversals that are our own departments fault each month
  • Responsible to build and maintain external relationships, were applicable.
  • Ensure prompt escalation of any issues that may cause financial or reputational issues to RBC Investor Services or its clients.
  • Liaison with external parties when required to facilitate timely and accurate payments
  • Completion of the Income processing and client queries/enquiries within the prescribed time frames
  • Checklists are completed daily with full and relevant details on issues, and submitted to the supervisor daily

  • Ability to work under pressure, managing workloads and time efficiently to meet stringent deadlines in a stressful environment
  • Good written/verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility towards working hours in order to meet business needs
  • A calm and logical approach with an eye for detail and a high level of processing accuracy

Nice-to-have

  • Industry related courses (CSC)
  • Working knowledge of custody systems
