About the Role

LNG Canada is currently looking for post-secondary students to join our exciting project in Kitimat, BC. Our 2024 Student experience program will begin in May for a duration of 4 months however we are open to students enrolled in Co-Operative Education Programs where student availability may differ (e.g. 4, 8, 12 month terms). We have potenial opportunities within our Construction / Engineering, Asset Operations, Finance/Administration and External Relations (Communications & Indigenous Relations) teams.

In our student experience program, you will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain hands on experience in the construction and commisioning & start-up of an LNG mega project. You will be able to take the skills you are currently learning in school, put them into practice and develop yourself to support professional growth.

To be successful, you will have:

  • An ability to work in Kitimat, BC
  • High skill level in working with computers including excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Skilled ability to work in excel spreadsheets with large amount of data and attention to detail
  • An easy, open and inquisitive attitude with an ability to shift priorities, work under pressure and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a team player approach and positive attitude
  • A key interest in advancing best practices and utilizing leading edge technology
  • A curious and flexible mindset, with the ability to adapt quickly to the requirements of the role
  • A valid BC Class 5 drivers license is considered an asset

This role requires that you:

  • Are currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program within one of the following disciplines:
    • Engineering, Business, Administration, Environmental Sciences, Information Technology/Computer Programming or similar program.
  • Are legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
  • Reside in the Kitimat/Terrace area in British Columbia.
  • Depending on the role, have the ability to work outside in all weather conditions, that can include rain, hot weather, cool or dusty days
  • Successful completion of a Site Access Alcohol & Drug Test
  • Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Work a 40-hour week: 8 hrs/5 days per week. Some flexibility may be required.
  • Work placements will begin in May 2024 for approximately 4 months, however we are open to students enrolled in Co-Operative Education Programs where student availability may differ (e.g. 4, 8, 12 month terms).
  • Take provided bus transportation to work from Terrace. For Kitmat residents there is an option to take the bus or drive directly to work with own transportation.
